
Darjeeling Himalayan Railway:
Darjeeling’s Pride DHR (Darjeeling Himalayan Railway), also known as “Darjeeling Toy Train,” is one of the oldest running narrow-gauge railway tracks in West Bengal, India, built in the British era. It was built between 1879 and 1881; it is about 88 km long from New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling. It climbs from about 100 m (330 ft) above sea level at New Jalpaiguri to about 2,200 m (7,200 ft) at Darjeeling. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway comes under the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Every visitor wants to ride on a toy train, which is a very joyful and lifetime experience & memories.
Joy Ride:

Joy Ride is one of the most famous short rides, running from Darjeeling station to Ghum station. This ride is truly joyful and memorable, offering a unique experience. The Darjeeling Toy Train runs through Darjeeling’s narrow galli, sometimes hugging the edges of the hills, sometimes at the bottom, and at other times running right in the middle of the road. This remarkable journey provides breathtaking views and an unforgettable adventure.
The train stops 10 minutes at Batasia Loop, allowing passengers to take in the stunning views of Kangchenjunga, then halts at Ghum for 30 minutes, giving visitors time to explore the DHR Railway Museum. Entry to the museum is included in the ticket fare. You can choose to travel with the locomotive steam engine which is built between 1889 and 1927 or a modern diesel locomotive.
